the spark of inspiration

Hi, I'm Amy, the founder of Firefly Wishes. Every great adventure has a humble beginning, and ours is no different. Back in high school, I had big dreams of the business world and decided to study marketing + advertising in college, a perfect mix of creativity and commerce. After graduation, I landed a marketing job with a big corporation. They even paid for my MBA—a golden opportunity.

My father, always my biggest supporter, saw something in me that I couldn't see in myself at the time. He suggested I start my own marketing firm with my brother, offering to be our initial investor. I laughed it off, dismissing the idea but deep down, I just didn’t trust myself.

Then, in 2016, something magical happened—the Cubs won the World Series! To celebrate, I designed a special Cubs Christmas ornament as gifts for our family at Thanksgiving. My aunt loved them so much she asked to buy more for her friends. Encouraged, I shared my creations on Facebook, and soon, friends were asking to buy them too!

My husband, with a twinkle in his eye, said, “You should start a business!” And just like that, echoes of my father’s voice resonated in my heart. This time, I didn’t laugh.

Firefly Wishes was born in February 2017 - it's where GOD led me. My brother Mike joined me, just as our father had suggested all those years ago. Looking back on my life’s path, I realize that I wasn’t just following my heart, I was abandoning myself to God’s Providence. I learned to trust that He would provide me all the grace and tools I needed. Thank you, Lord!
