The Enduring Message of Our Lady of Fatima: Pray Very Much
On May 13, 1917, three shepherd children in a quiet village in Portugal witnessed something extraordinary. While tending their sheep, they saw a beautiful lady clothed in radiant white light. That lady was Our Blessed Mother—and her message was clear:
“Pray. Pray very much.”
It wasn’t complicated.
It wasn’t grand.
But it was urgent.
And it still is.
Why Her Message Matters Now
When Mary appeared in Fatima, the world was in turmoil. War, fear, and spiritual darkness surrounded the hearts of many. But instead of asking for grand gestures, Our Lady called for prayer, penance, and conversion of heart.
That same call echoes today.
So often I feel overwhelmed by everything happening around me. There’s so much I can’t control. But this message—this invitation to simply stop and pray—grounds me. It reminds me that God is listening. And His will is perfect.
A Small Daily Reminder to Pray
In moments of stress, while folding laundry or prepping dinner, I’ve found that even the littlest nudges back to prayer can shift my whole mindset.
That’s why I created my “Pray! Pray very much!” kitchen towel and T-shirt—to bring Our Lady’s message into the everyday places we move through: the kitchen, the carpool line, the grocery store. Because we don’t have to be in a cathedral to encounter God. Sometimes, all it takes is a glance at a simple reminder.
Let’s Keep Her Words Close
Whether you mark today’s feast with a rosary, a moment of silence, or a quiet “yes” to trust God more deeply, I hope you’ll feel the peace of knowing that Heaven is near.
And if you’d like a way to keep that message close, you can find my Fatima-inspired pieces here:

Let’s pray for each other—and for a world still in need of peace.
With love,
Amy
